You can call
Jesus many things: King of Kings, Lord
of Lords, Prince of Peace, the Alpha and the Omega. You can even, as C.S. Lewis postulates, call
Him a liar or lunatic, He did after all claim to be God. Choose either to believe Him, or peg Him as
delusional, but diplomat is one descriptive term that will not fit His
character.
Considering
Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, the life, no one get to heaven except
through me. And unless you believe I am who I claim to be you will die in your
sins.” These statements, among others,
illustrate Christ left no wiggle room for political correctness.
Jesus was no
effeminate Tiny Tim looking dude flashing a peace sign and tip-toeing through
the tulips. Why did religious leaders
and politicians of His day crucify Him?
Does the cross of Calvary represent a “Diplomat of the Year Award,” a
kind of Common Era Nobel Peace Prize?
Mankind’s
problem always was and always will be spiritual in nature. How long shall
mankind glory in a spiritually schizophrenic mind? Governments create laws designed to coerce
civilized behavior. Christ’s blood
purifies the hearts of man so laws are unnecessary.
We stand at
the abyss of eternity; I fear we shall see another election cycle wasted.
Citizens dazzled by some politicians’ soring rhetoric; someone who offers a
panacea for society’s woes, but delivers an anti-climactic fizzle.
Christianity
is inclusive, all are welcome, black and white, men and women, young, old,
rich, poor, slave or free. All need to
come to Christ for forgiveness of sins.
Not to Mohammad, not to Buddha—to Christ.
Have I become
your enemy for telling you the truth? If
you believe my stance makes me combative, so be it.
